We’re building a foundation that makes failing neighborhoods unpopular, unacceptable, and un-Kentucky.

East Lexington and the KSU corridor face multi-decade decline: flooded apartments, trapped families, blighted lots, and an energy grid unprepared for the AI boom.
This is not inevitable.

Under-employed parents trapped in survival mode, flooding apartments, rising rents, and no safe streets rob children like of stability and dreams.

Kentucky’s aging grid stands unprepared for the coming AI-energy boom, risking blackouts and billions in lost private investment while other states surge ahead.

Many distant islands of distress are disconnected from a truly promising avenue for education.
Vacant lots, unsafe streets, and abandoned buildings surround Kentucky State University, driving away talent and leaving students safe places to gather or grow.
We believe that when people are supported, places are renewed, and communities have control over their own economic future, prosperity becomes the default—not the exception. Complexion drives this mission with transparency, measurable outcomes, and a deep commitment to the communities we serve.
Complexion exists to make Kentucky a place where every family, every neighborhood, and every community institution can rise together. Over the next five years, we are advancing a bold, coordinated strategy that strengthens People, Places, and Power—the three historic levers proven to create lasting prosperity.
We do this through private-sector discipline, faith-rooted partnerships, and asset-based community development that unlocks opportunity where it has been historically overlooked.
Strengthen People
We help families move from crisis to stability and into upward mobility through the support of employers, faith communities, and social-service partners. Our programs focus on job readiness, life skills, and removing practical barriers—so people can access real pathways to work, dignity, and long-term success.
Strengthen Places
We work with public, private, and institutional partners to transform the Kentucky State University (KSU) district into a safe, vibrant innovation corridor. Our approach revitalizes housing, commercial spaces, and community infrastructure, creating an environment where students, families, and local businesses can thrive together.
Strengthen Power
Through Project Thunderbolt, we advance community-integrated energy planning that prepares Kentucky for the AI and data-center economy. By aligning energy reliability, renewable innovation, and local workforce development, we position Kentucky to lead—and benefit from—the next generation of digital infrastructure.
The strategic logic behind Complexion’s mission to strengthen People, Places, and Power shows how our programs work together—using proven, asset-based methods—to stabilize families, revitalize neighborhoods, and prepare communities for the emerging AI-energy economy.
